If there’s one thing ATLiens love it’s a holiday that involves drinking (cheers Arbor Day!). With Atlanta being a melting pot of transplants from all over the world it’s no surprise that there are a ton of great St. Patrick’s day events taking place all day, all over the city. You have plenty of choices so let us help make it easier for you. Here are six events you definitely shouldn’t miss this year.
Power 96.1’s Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration
Andrews Entertainment District
March 14th 9:00 AM
Join 96.1 and Scotty K for a celebration of all that is Irish. The party kicks off bright and early with Kegs & Eggs in Stout Irish Sports pub at 6am. At noon doors will open for the festival which takes place in all 7 venues of Andrews Entertainment District. Party all day with drink and shot specials, four bands, two DJs, and a bangers eating contest.
Register to compete in the contest by sending us a short audition video of why you think you should be in the Bangers Eating Contest and sharing on our Andrews Entertainment District’s Facebook Page. The winner will receive a trip to Vegas!

Smyrna St. Patrick’s Day Fest
Market Village
March 14th 11:00 AM
Get lucky in Smyrna! If you’re more the OTP type you know suburbanites know how to Party (hush ITP, yes they do!). The 13th annual festival will be a shamrockin’ day of live music, partying, and games. Enjoy the traditional dyeing of the fountain green, play some cornhole, and partake in the flowing Guinness, Harp and Irish Car Bombs.
A portion of the proceeds of this event will benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training. Boozin’ for a cause. Can’t beat that.

Meehan’s 7th Annual Sham Rock and Roll
Meehan’s Sandy Springs
March 14th, 12:00 PM
If you’ve never seen a bunch of people publicly get their heads shaved you’re missing out. This annual event is a blast, I’ll get to that later, but it’s also an opportunity for folks to support St. Baldrick’s foundation to benefit childhood cancer research by shaving your head. Last year they raised over $100k for the foundation.
After the headshavings there is plenty of fun to be had. Meehan’s brings in Irish dancers and live music. This year’s headliners are Georgia favorites Ed Roland & The Sweet Tea Project. There will be plenty of beer, drink specials, and barbecue! Tickets are half the price if purchased ahead of time so get a move on.

They will have your favorite Irish treats and drinks on hand and live music for all. Music begins at 3pm with Reynolds & Williams, followed by Truett Lollis and Zaid Kahn Band.
