The Venture Atlanta Conference returns October 20-21 at the Georgia Aquarium for another year of connecting Georgia’s entrepreneurs with the technological capital they need to grow their businesses. The conference showcases these Southeastern companies at both early and later stages, all looking to raise capital in the next 18 months.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Niraj Shah, CEO and co-founder of “unicorn” company Wayfair.com. He will share his experiences and lessons learned in building one of the world’s largest online destinations for home furnishings and decor with a market cap of over $3 billion. “Unicorn Club” is a term coined by Fortune magazine describing those entrepreneurs who are part of the “Age of the Unicorns,” a time characterized by the rise of billion dollar, as well as tech standout companies being spearheaded by inventive entrepreneurs and the investors who back them.
In 2014, Wayfair grew its sales more than 63% and filed one of the largest e-commerce IPOs in U.S. history, thus claiming its spot in the “Unicorn Club.” The company has rapidly grown and has employed over 2,600 people in the decade since its been around.
Shah’s keynote address will take place on Wednesday, October 21, at 9:30AM. For more information on Venture Atlanta or to register for the event, visit www.ventureatlanta.org.
