Something we regularly do for our event Organizers is send a photographer to capture the event. Post-event photos are a great way to keep your audience engaged long after your event has taken place. People love to tag themselves in photos on Facebook, share photos with friends and family and a photo makes a great keepsake from the event. Engagement is typically very high.
Our favorites are “grab-n-grins“. It’s simple enough. Our photographers like to grab a crowd and get them to grin. Families love them because it’s often a chance to get that great family shot (without the one person missing who took the photo!) and groups attending the event love to remember the occasion with a picture of themselves having fun.
Obviously, you want to post the photos to your website but we also encourage you to share them to your Facebook page so that your audience can tag themselves and share them more easily. Another great place to add the photos is Google+. They have some search engine value so people looking for information about the event, or photos from the event or the event location will sometimes find them more easily than finding your own event website.
Last weekend, we sent our photographer to shoot some grab-n-grins at the annual Atlanta Greek Festival, an event which sold tickets with Freshtix.
After the festival posted a link to the Freshtix Google+ page over 15,000 people viewed the photos the first week following the event!
